    Robert, this is a cute and clever video about cultural differences.
    However, I am an American, and I do not make fun of Slovakia! My father
    was Slovak.
    I am proud of my Slovak ancestry, and I was so welcomed in my Slovak
    cousins’ beautiful villages there when I visited. The food is wonderful in
    Slovakia and we love to cook colache and kielbasa and hrutka and hlupky in
    America, too.
    We keep many smart Slovak traditions in America. I think it is smart to
    take off our shoes and to not track germs and dirt into the house, or to
    track in on our shoes, all the pesticides used in America, into the house.
    I think the Slovak garden is beautiful. The American garden has weed
    killers sprayed around it, so there may not be the hoeing in America,
    (unless it is organic), but Americans are eating and drinking poison in the
    food and water from the glyphosate weed killers used, instead of hoeing.
    American corporations such as Monsanto and Syngenta, control the food and
    have put genetically engineered foods into the American processed foods,
    without putting labels on them since 1996. The news in America does not
    report much on the GMOs. So many Americans do not know that the food they
    are eating are ‘pesticide delivery systems.’
    These agrichemical companies have patented seeds and they want to own every
    seed in the world. It is hard to believe that a seed could be patented when
    it came from our grandparents!
    The Slovaks can grow their own gardens and save seeds if they do not buy
    the American poison seeds, with neonicotonoid poisons that kill bees.
    I am sad to see that Slovakia is now growing GMO corn, though.
    The poisons in the corn and sprayed on the GMO corn will take away minerals
    from the soil and kill earthworms and bees and butterflies and birds. The
    glyphosate sprayed on the corn will poison Slovak rivers. There is
    glyphosate in 75% of rain samples, in places in America. In America, 95% of
    our Monarch butterflies are gone. Half our bees die every year. Yet the
    chemical companies refuse to remove the poisons, from the seeds.
    I am also sorry to see the Slovaks wanting to be part of the TTIP which
    will force all countries to accept GMOs.. even though 64 countries
    now label foods with GMOs and many ban the GMOs.. The TTIP can take away
    labels as has been done in the US.
    Most Americans do not speak other languages whereas my Slovak grandmother
    spoke 5. I think you had fun making the movie and that is a delight to
    watch. I certainly would not mock the flag.. ‘lightening over the Tatras’
    is a wonder to behold. It seems to fill the whole world.
    Again, thanks for sharing a very well made film. it is food for thought
    about cultural understanding.

    Mocking at any nation’s symbols is always disgusting. Even when it’s the
    anthem of nazi Germany or the sort. Slovakia has fine anthem. As any other
    country do.

    Some truth to this video…Americans in general do not know World
    Geography–nor do they know the culture of Slovakia. My ancestors are all
    from Slovakia, I am American…I think what is misunderstood many times by
    Europeans is that yes we as Americans with origins from Europe, want to
    connect with our European Roots…We are the foster children of Europe, and
    want to know where it was that we came from. There is as much Slovak blood
    flowing in my veins as my brothers and sisters in Slovakia…

    vec s lyžičkou v káve- počul som, že pokiaľ v reštaurácii necháte lyžičku v
    šálke, čašník by ju mal zobrať, a teda ak kávu ešte chcete piť, lyžičku
    položíte na tanierik..

    Typický Slováci.. Keby polovica národa nebola takáto zatrpknutá mohlo to tu
    vyzerať aj inak. Ale nieje tu až tak zle, bol som v západných krajinách,
    bol som aj v Nórsku a vždy som sa vrátil a povedal som si že zlaté
    Slovensko. V Holandsku síce sú modernejšie mestá ako u nás ale príroda nemá
    na tú našu, samá rovina a lúky, nič iné. Tiež som si myslel že len u nás
    môžu byť odpadky niekde popri ceste, ale na severe Nórska (takej vyspelej a
    bohatej krajiny) bolo možno viac špiny pri cestách a pobrežiach ako u nás.
    Tamojší ľudia nemali o Slovensku ani šajnu, česť výnimkám, tak potom aká
    úroveň vzdelania tam je? Tam sa neučia zemepis a dejepis Európy? U nás
    všetci ľudia s maturitou poznajú všetky krajiny Európy, keď aj nie kde
    presne sú ale aspoň vedia že taká krajina je niekde v Európe. Tak prečo sme
    taký zatrpknutý a len kydáme ako nám je zle a nesnažíme sa pozdvihnúť to čo
    je dobré? Samozrejme že nič nieje ideálne a že tu nieje ani z ďaleka raj na
    Zemi, ale každopádne Slovensko má svoje čaro. Nieje tu ideálna politická a
    ekonomická situácia, ale kto sa snaží a nesedí iba doma a nefrfle sa tu
    môže mať aj dobre.

    Keby tu niesú blbý politici a keby tu sú vhodnejšie podmienky pre
    robotníkov tak sme úžasná a veľmi krásna krajina.
